Phishing Exercise Emails
Phishing is the practice of sending fraudulent emails, often disguised in various ways to look legitimate, in an attempt to trick people into giving away their credentials or their money.
Benedictine University uses tools to send out phishing emails to our email users as training exercises. The goals of sending these phishing emails are to help educate users to better identify phishing emails and to respond properly by reporting and deleting the messages.
When you receive an email you suspect to be a phishing attempt, you should:
1. In Outlook, click the Report Suspicious button. This will send a copy of the message to our email security system for evaluation.
2. Delete the message.
