Please note – The following instructions are for using the device with Microsoft Teams. If you are using Zoom, please refer to Using the Poly X72 Video Bar with Zoom for specific instructions.
This room has been equipped with the Poly Studio X72 Video Bar to aid in both teaching and video conferencing. This device replaces webcams and, if using your own laptop, it removes the need to connect to the room's system via the HDMI cable.
Connect Your Own Laptop
Instructions for using the room's PC are below
Before You Begin
- To use the room's projector with your own laptop, you are essentially running an ad hoc Teams meeting and sharing your screen over the projector.
- Ensure the room's projector is turned on and you are seeing the video bar's image being projected onto the wall/screen:
If this is not being projected, please go over to the tablet at the rack and tap the screen once.
Starting the Teams Meeting
- Open MS Teams on your laptop.
- In the upper right of the Teams window, click the ellipsis and select Cast. This will automatically create a Teams meeting and connect to the Poly Video Bar.
- The Poly tablet will ring and on the screen you will see the invitation to join your meeting. Click the button. The Poly Video Bar will connect to your meeting and your laptop will now be displayed through the projector.
- When you are finished your class, merely end the Teams meeting. The Poly Video Bar will automatically disconnect.
